Bible in 90 Days Begins June 3
For a while now, I have been feeling like God is asking me to read through His Word from cover to cover in 90 days once again. I REALLY want to do it, but I have this whole “responsibility” issue which makes me feel like I NEED to offer support and accountability to others who would like to accomplish the same goal. It’s rough. I resisted. But, I can’t resist His calling anymore! I’m nervous and scared and totally don’t feel ready to lead a ginormous group of readers, but I want to be faithful, whatever that means.
But first, I want to give a little bit of back story.
I joined my first Bible in 90 Days challenge with Mom’s Toolbox in July 2010. It was amazing. It was breathtaking. It was life changing.
Since then, I have read through the Bible from cover to cover three times. Each time, I get something new out of it. My heart races and I feel my thoughts and my words and my actions changing and aligning more with what God wants for me. Every. Single. Time.
You can read more about my different experiences in these old blog posts:
Bible in 90 Days:
My First Read-Through -
- July 2010: Bible in 90 Days – My thoughts as I first took on the challenge.
- Day 15 - Reading Leviticus was FUN! Who knew?
- The Power of Accountability: My thoughts at Day 36
- Day 65 – My thoughts on the book of Daniel
- Day 78 - Getting goosebumps! Coming into the home stretch!
- Day 87 – I DID IT! I finished reading the Bible cover to cover! What a life changing experience!
My Second Read-Through -
- A Bible in 90 Days Invitation: A little bit of testimony. How God used Bible in 90 Days in my life.
- Thoughts on Overcoming Objections: Watch out! I get feisty!
- Entering the New Testament. Changing the world!
My Third Read-Through -
- Why Buy the Official B90 Bible?
- And, that’s all I wrote! I did finish the 3rd time.
I’m asking you to prayerfully consider joining me this summer as I read through the entire Bible from cover to cover in 90 Days. That is about 12 pages a day, or about 45 minutes of your time each day and it will run from June 3 to August 31.
Grab a Bible. If this is your first time reading through the Bible in 90 Days, I very strongly suggest that you purchase the official B90 Bible. I wrote a post on that called “Why Buy the Official B90 Bible?”. Please read it if you would like to be successful!
Grab a bookmark. Print off Bible in 90 Days Bookmark sheet, cut it apart and hand the extras out to some friends.
Join the Bible in 90 Days Summer 2012 Facebook Group. I have recently come to appreciate the sense of community that Facebook Groups provide, so instead of a “Page”, we are having a temporary “Group“. I know many of you are not on Facebook, but for those of us who are on Facebook, this will be an excellent place to connect. It will be public for the first two weeks of reading as we are adding new members, but I will change it to secret after that.
If you are not on Facebook, sign up for a Mentor Group. You can register here: B90 Online Registration is Open!
Tell some friends about your goal. You are much more likely to be successful if you have people around you who are encouraging you to reach your goal. Accountability is HUGE with this challenge, so layers upon layers of accountability is extra important!
And then, just DO IT. As the great Yoda said, “Do or do not. There is no try.”
Are you considering joining us?

Interesting concept. I do think it is important for those who profess to be Christians to actually know what the Bible contains. All of it.
I have a BA in Religious Studies and Anthropology. I’ve read the Bible. I’ve gone deep into parts of it. And I work in theology right now. I think that’s enough Christianity for this non Christian!
I do think the Bible is a fascinating collection of books. I like the Nag Hammadi texts better, personally.
