Keeping it Real: The Sock Monster Threw Up

I really can’t blame all of this on the Sock Monster. Sure, he has been known to eat a few single socks leaving orphans in his wake, however that is a rather rare occurrence, considering that I’m only responsible for the laundry of 4 people. I can’t imagine how my sister keeps up with the socks of her 6 children, plus her husband and herself. THIS is why I can’t have more kids, people. The socks. (I like to come up with reasons why I shouldn’t have more …

CTMH Stamp Set Blowout Sale!

I used to be a Close To My Heart consultant, and in the process I amassed a HUGE collection of stamping goodies that I am cleaning out! I am getting ready to mail some off to a friend and then list the rest on Ebay, but I figured that some of you might want first dibs, so I’m posting a list of what I have so you can grab them if you want to!
Do a quick internet search on the number to see a photo. For example, “D1259 Eastertime CTMH” …

No-Sew Super Hero Cape!

My son is obsessed with Nacho Libre. It’s truly hysterical. He will start the movie and then act out the final “Big Match” (scene 20) wrestling scene against Ramses over and over and over. ACT out. Like, he will do crazy flips and throw himself on the floor and everything. He climbs up on the arm of the big chair, puts his arms up in a high A and dives off just like Nacho did when he hurled himself at Ramses.
He desperately wants a Nacho Libre costume, but they …

Got Dinner? A Cookbook Review!

I once heard that if you purchase a new cookbook and only find ONE new recipe that you love enough to add to your monthly menu plan, then that recipe book was worth it’s purchase price. As I think about all of the recipes that my family enjoys the most and then consider where I found them (cookbooks, magazines, websites, blogs, etc), I have come to realize that I completely agree with this statement. I DO have a couple of cookbooks that I have only found one gem-of-a-recipe inside, and …

Kellie Parry Photography Special!

I am so blessed to have friends who have gifts for taking amazing photos. It’s even more fun when I have the opportunity to watch them develop their photography skillz over the years.
Let’s take my friend Kellie Parry, for example. Great name. She spells it wrong, but we can forgive her, right?
Kellie may not know this, but I’ve been stalking her blogs for the last couple of years. I subscribe to her family blog, her photography website and her Project 365 blog (which then turned into her Project 52 blog …

Random Bits of Happiness

Subtitle: What I’ve been up to lately . . .
I’ve been having a blast! In the last couple of months, I have:
Celebrated our 13 year anniversary and his birthday with my husband.
. . . at the Benson Hotel, where we spent our wedding night 13 (and a half) years ago. SURE, our anniversary is actually November 22nd, however we couldn’t seem to get away to Portland until March, which was perfect, since we could get a 2-fer and celebrate Mitch’s birthday at the same time!
. . . and met …

B90 Update: Entering the New Testament!!

Can you imagine what our world would look like if EVERY Christian would read through the entire Bible?
We would change the WORLD.
Do you realize that only a tiny percentage of Christians have read through the entire Bible? I was one of them for 34 years, people. I taught Sunday School and Bible Study, helped lead Small Groups, sat on leadership committees, went on missions trips, attended Christian schools and colleges . . . and yet I had never read the entire Bible until recently. There were whole books that I …
