Read Through The Bible in 90 Days – Starts January 3rd!

27 December 2010 2,094 views 16 Comments

In just one week the group of ladies gathering over at Mom’s Toolbox will be embarking on another walk through the Bible in 90 Days. I am so excited!! Butterflies in my stomach excited!!

As you know, last summer I finally reached my goal of reading through the entire Bible from cover to cover. AND, instead of dragging it out for a whole year, I read it in just 12 pages a day and finished in less than 90 days! Eighty-eight, to be precise. Hee, hee!

I invite you to go back and read some of my posts as I shared my experience the last time around:

This time around, I have committed to mentoring a group of women and encouraging them in their reading. I am so passionate about this life-changing experience and I desperately want others to have what I have.

Will you consider reading with us?

If so, please head on over to Amy’s post where she shares all kinds of details about the Bible in 90 Days challenge so that you can be successful in reaching your goal. And then, SIGN UP so that you can be assigned to a mentor and be encouraged!!

Now, I have to share with you something super exciting that I could use your prayer for. I approached my church about starting a Bible in 90 Days challenge, and it looks like it is going to happen starting in March!! It’s going to be HUGE, with a sermon series and a Sunday School class and weekly check-ins and a video series and everything. My handsome husband is going to be the up-front teacher guy and I’ll be his support staff. Hee, hee!

At this point, I don’t know if I am going to join in reading with the group at Mom’s Toolbox or if I should wait until my church (and my husband) starts it in March. I want to be an effective mentor and also be here to support YOU, my blog readers, but I think it is important to be on the same page with my church, too. Argh!!

Advice, opinions and prayer are appreciated right now (for the next week! yikes!). What would you do?

Are you thinking about joining us? I’d love to know!

Oh Kelleigh, that is so cool! You’ve got my prayers! And since you asked for advice/opinions… you are your hubby’s help meet, it’s more important to be there for him than your blog readers… plus, I think your blog readers would totally understand that it would be difficult for you to read along with them and then to also support your church and hubby. I’ll be praying for peace for you as I think you can still be a great encouragement to your blog readers even if you aren’t reading along with them.

    Thanks so much, Heather!! My husband only JUST gave me his real opinion, and he agrees with you. I guess I wasn’t really thinking about that!! {I’m so selfish sometimes. ARGH.}

Thanks Angela!! Looks like that’s what I’ll be doing! I have to confess that it WILL be hard not to want to read along with my group, but I can’t wait to be on the same page as my husband!

My bible class at church is reading the Bible in chronological order. We are taking the usual 1 year to do it, but I don’t want to confuse myself by doing 2 programs at the same time. I think this is a spectacular concept, but I like yours, too!

God always blesses us when we read His Word, no matter how fast or slow we do it! Thanks for your encouragement, Cathie!

I have been wanting to join in but with work and college there was no way that I could commit. I finally graduated this month so now I just have work and I can finally commit to spending that much time in the word and stick to it! I can’t wait to get started. I have some “bucks” I earned at Borders that I need to use by the end of the month, so I think I will use those to get the bible. I am really looking forward to it!

Oh, I do hope you’ll join us, Cindy!! I have the 90 Days Bible myself, and although it looks like “just a regular Bible” (my thoughts, at first), having the sections broken down is SO valuable!! I LOVED having it in my purse and then keeping my regular Bible by my bed. . . . Oh, who am I kidding? I had Bibles all over the house!!

I’ll do a post on this soon, just so you know what it looks like!

Thanks for posting this info, I just signed up yesterday and am so excited! I’ve never read through the bible before let alone in 90 days so I’m excited to see what God has to teach me! Thank you so much for your encouragment. Will be praying for you when you join in with your hubby, I think that is great you guys can do it together. I’m going to ask mine if he’d like to join me or at least be my accountability partner!

I found your page after googling for the Bible read-through program. My small group leaders at church just sprang this on us last week. We’re starting right after New Year’s. I found the official website and was dismayed that the Bible we’re supposed to use isn’t available on Kindle. Oh well I always need something to complain about.

Yes, it does come in a Kindle edition!! http://www.amazon.com/Bible-Days-International-Version-ebook/dp/B004Z1SUXY/ref=tmm_kin_title_0?ie=UTF8&m=AG56TWVU5XWC2&qid=1319725229&sr=1-1

Enjoy the challenge! I’ve done it 3 times now, and I learn something new every time!
