Do you guys remember when I bought these frames at a garage sale for 75¢ each? And then, I hung them on the wall because Layla told me to.

Well, as I mentioned in that Layla post, I have been meaning to do something with those frames. I FINALLY got the itch to play with them yesterday.

Mitch and the boys got me some more burlap for Christmas. Hee, hee! They DO know me, huh? (And, if you are new here, let me refresh your memory: The Bulletin Boards and My Digital Workstation.

SO, I grabbed some spare cardboard and cut it to fit inside the frame.

Then, I cut the burlap a little bit wider than the cardboard piece.

And, used my glue gun to wrap the burlap around the cardboard.

Then, I ran a bead of hot glue around the inside of the frame and shoved the burlap-covered-cardboard into place. It’s not pretty on the back, but it works!!

It looks awesome from the front, don’t you think?!

No, of course it isn’t perfect. But, I love it!!

I’ve been ITCHING to go to garage sales, but the weather has been pretty unpredictable here. In fact, I did go to a few last weekend. There wasn’t a whole lot to see, although I picked up a pair of Lucky Brand Jeans for $1 and something else that I can’t remember. I’m kinda stuck on the jeans.

Here’s the story:

I was walking around an enormous garage sale that was VERY well organized. Problem was that most of the items for sale were baby related, and we don’t have a baby. However, one table had a few items of woman’s clothing on it. I casually looked it over and spied some denim that looked promising. I checked out the size (my “skinny jeans” size) and held them up for length. Yeah. Promising.

So, I asked the gal, “Okay, so what is wrong with these jeans? Do they make your butt look big?”

She laughed and said that they just didn’t fit anymore since she had kids. “They are Lucky Brand Jeans. When you unzip them, they say ‘Lucky You!” on the inside. My husband always laughed about that. I spent way more on those jeans than I ever would these days, but that was back before kids when I was working.”

I admitted that I know NOTHING about brand name clothing. I’ve never heard of Lucky Jeans. She started saying things like, “They are kinda like _____, and not as nice as ______, but even better than ______. They were $90.00!!”

Me? Clueless. Blank Stare. I asked how much she was selling them for.

“Would you pay Five dollars?”

Me: “No, probably not, since I don’t even know if they would fit me.”

Her: “Okay, how about one dollar. I just want to sell them.”

Me: “Here ya go!”

So, I walked away with $90 brand name jeans (I’m so clueless) for only $1. AND, they actually fit me!! Nicely! I look cute in them!

I’d say that I scored.

I can’t wait until garage sale season is in full swing!!! In the meantime, I really need to do something with all of my scores from last summer, huh? I’ll be posting pictures as I complete projects!! There’s SO much to do!
