The Swagbucks Final Count of 2010
Today is Super Swag Bucks Friday, so I thought I would give you all an update on my Swag Bucks earning status!!
Remember my goal to pay for Christmas 2010 using Amazon Gift Cards earned through the search engine called Swag Bucks? Well, I will confess to you that I actually used the gift cards to pay for a lot more than Christmas. Let’s see . . . I bought Mitch a Father’s Day present in June, I sent my sister a $25 code for her birthday in August, and then in October I bought a new instant hot water heater (for my kitchen) to replace the one that broke. THEN, for Christmas, I ended up buying The Princess Bride (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo) and a Black Nintendo Wii, Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort, plus some Kid Friendly Remote and Playchuks for a “family gift”. My boys have absolutely NO idea, because I told them I would never get them a video game thingy, but my friends, family and husband wore me down. I am SO excited!
When all is said and done, I have earned $475 worth of Amazon Gift Cards earned through Swag Bucks this year, and all I did was change my search engine from Google to Swag Bucks.
Some things I’ve learned along the way:
- Tell your friends. Most of my SBs come from referrals. When you sign up for Swag Bucks using my link, I get a couple of Swag Bucks whenever you win!! You can tell your friends by posting about it on your blog, or linking up to Facebook, or just send them a quick email. If they “get it”, they will thank you. Promise. (I’d love to know how many of my readers signed up under me and how much you have earned this year!! Tell me in the comments!!)
- Download the toolbar. Swag Bucks makes it VERY easy to make them your search engine of choice by giving you the option of downloading the Swag Bucks toolbar. Every time I open the internet, a little window pops up that says that I earned 1 SB just for using the toolbar! Woo Hoo! What is even better is that I don’t have to do anything special now. I just search like I normally would have back when I was using Google. Check out my computer screen.
- Don’t get all weird. No, seriously. I know people who hunt down codes for 30 minutes or who play all kinds of games or do surveys just to win a Swag Buck. Okay, you can do that if you have time to kill, but I don’t, and I still earn Swag Bucks!! The one thing I DO is that when I notice a message in my “From TSG” on the toolbar, I click it and copy and paste the code to grab some quick Swag Bucks!! Totally brainless.
- SEARCH. There are a few websites that I frequent (The Digichick, Frugal Living NW and The Krazy Coupon Lady, just to name a few!), and instead of clicking on some link off of my blog or from my Google Reader, I will actually go ahead and enter them into the search box. I can’t tell you how many times I have won Swag Bucks from these three places! You have to actually search to earn!! AND, Super Swag Bucks Friday is a wonderful day to get started on searching, because you could win a BUNCH of Swag Bucks all at once!! I think my highest was 45. Woo Hoo!
Swag Bucks is a totally legitimate way to earn money via the internet. It is simply a search engine, and you are simply doing what you would normally do on the internet, so there is no risk and no reason not to sign up!! Imagine being able to pay for Christmas 2011 using your Swag Bucks!! Wouldn’t that be cool!? I’d love it if you would consider signing up using my link to get me started on 2011, but if you don’t feel comfortable doing that, just go to swagbucks.com and sign up for yourself!!
Use the code: JoinIn2010 to get 60 SBs just for signing up!
Okay, so spill. How much have you earned through Swag Bucks this year??

I only joined in April, but I earned $525. I’m currently earning about $125 a month now that I’m up to speed. I’m hoping to double that next year!
I don’t go crazy hunting down codes and playing games. Once a week I play any videos that are on the swagbucks offers pages, and then once a month I go to the swagbucks facebook page and look for any special offers that I can do. I will do some of the trial offers - like for credit reports — I’m trying to improve my credit, so once a month (or every other month if I dont find an offer I like) I’ll look for an offer that gives you a free report with your score so I can keep track of my progress.
Also, I follow http://twitter.com/swidgetwatch and have the texts sent to my phone. I have unlimited texts anyway. That lets me know whenever there is a code out and if I’m near the computer I’ll hop on and grab it. If I’m not, I just ignore the text!

WOW! That is awesome!! Isn’t it cool that we don’t have to do anything crazy to earn a little extra money from home?

Yay! Congrats Kelleigh…that is so cool. As soon as they let Candians join I’ll be sure to sign up under you. Let us know if you ever see that happening.

Well, I had no idea Canadians couldn’t join! That’s a little weird. They even offer Amazon gift cards for Amazon Canada. I wonder what that is all about!

I’m going to go check it out now. I just saw a Canadian blog talking about Swagbucks with a “sign up” link under her. Maybe they do allow Cdn’s to sign up?? I just assumed because Canada is excluded from quite alot. If they do let me sign up I will certainly be doing it through you. To think I might have been wasting all this. I hope it works…..how fun!

OK-Done and Done!! It totally let’s Canadians sign up! Woohoo!! I got 30 for signing up and won 11 already. I think that’s plenty for 1 day….haha. From what I understand you can only win so many times a day anyway searching. Fun stuff Kelleigh! Now can you please help me with getting Canada to get on the Coupon bandwagon? Speaking of which….did you see the Extreme Coupon show? I loved it. Canada will never ever be able to use coupons even 1% to that extent.
Wow.. that’s crazy impressive!! I’ve made $60 (plus $5 ready to be cashed out) in 2010 without trying too hard. I only have the chance to get a couple searches in a day, and I only have 3 referrals (2 of which aren’t active) so my earning is minimal. It would be nice if I got more people to sign up under me, but I’m sure my Facebook friends are tired of me posting about stuff like that! But still - $65 for doing barely anything is great in my book!

All right Kelleigh, you convinced me! I signed up under you and we’ll see how I do this next year.

[...] I’ve been using Swagbucks as my search engine instead of Google, and I’ve shared my referral link on my blog and on Facebook. When you sign up with Swagbucks using my referral link, then every time you search on using the Swagbucks search engine, you have the opportunity to win Swagbucks. These add up pretty quickly (especially when you share your referral link), and pretty soon you can cash them in for a $5 Amazon gift card. Last year, I bought most of our Christmas presents on Amazon using $475 worth of gift cards I had earned through Swagbucks. WOW! You can read all about that in this end of the year Swagbucks post!
