Ah, yes. Day 5. Feelin’ good!
I see that many of you have discovered my Grab Bag already this morning!! YAY! Yes, I released a Grab Bag with 3 brand new template sets in it. Over the next few days, I’ll show you the insides of my grab bag, along with tutorials for putting the templates together. If you’ve been over to The Digichick, you might have noticed that everything in the store, with the exception of the Grab Bags, has been put on sale for 35% off to celebrate Digital Scrapbooking Day! This sale only lasts until Sunday at midnight (EST), so stock up on your digi supplies while you can!!
And, back to my Grab Bag.
First up is the gorgeous new Silhouette Box (which I shoved into the tree so I could call it an ornament):
{gasp!}
Yeah, I know. Gorg.
Check out what my Creative Team Members did with it:
Thank you Tracy, Juli and Julee!
I had so much fun with this template, and I was so pleased when it turned out so beautifully. Let me show you how I put it together!
For this project, I grabbed the Silhouette Box Template Set out of My November Grab Bag, and The November Grab Bag by Danielle Engebretson (which is just amazing!).
Before I get started, let me direct you to some pretty good tutorials (if I do say so myself!) found at The Hybrid Chick:
Where to Start – offers suggestions for basic materials to get you started with hybrid.
Using Templates – guides you through the process of using my templates from downloading to adding digital paper, and preparing to print.
Borderless Printing – shows you how to find your borderless printing option on your printer . . . or at least gets you headed in the right direction.
Now, print your project! Of course, you can use digital paper or simply print the lines only version on some of the patterned paper or cardstock in your stash.
I chose a lovely yellow paper from Danielle’s digital kit, added it to the large version of the Silhouette Box, and printed it out on matte photo paper.
First, I scored all of the dashed lines. You can’t see them very well on my project, because I changed the color of my lines to blend into the paper. I used my scoring tool and a ruler for all of the straight lines, and I used my embossing tool to go around the curves. If you don’t have an embossing tool, a mechanical pencil with the lead pushed in (so you are not actually drawing) works wonderfully.
Next, I cut on all of the solid lines.
Then, I folded on all of the scored lines.
I applied adhesive to the notched edge.
And adhered it to the opposite side. This takes a bit of maneuvering, but it is so worth it!
Finally, I simply applied adhesive to either end and closed them up!
This is the result!
I hope you enjoy creating your own Silhouette Box!! I’d LOVE to see what you come up with, so be sure to shoot me an email, pm, or leave a comment with a link to your project! (Seriously. It makes me giddy when you show me your projects made with my templates!)

Can your templates be used with a digital cutter? That would be AWESOME!
