I was SO excited when I saw a preview of the Safeway deals this week. You know how I told you that my kids don’t drink juice at our house because I’m too cheap, and it’s too full of sugar, and I get tired of the whining? Well, I made an exception, because it is on MEGA sale (with coupons, of course).

My first transaction was this:

There is a Buy 5 Save $5 promotion, so I had to buy 5.

I used:
(4) $1/1 Capri Sun coupons (4/25 SS)
(1) $1/1 Welches coupon (coupons.com)
(1) $1/1 Welches coupon loaded onto my card at Safeway.com
and the Safeway doubler (.50¢ off up to 4 coupons for a total of $2.00 savings)
AND,
I paid .15¢ OOP

FIFTEEN CENTS, people.

This is the rest of what I picked up:

Highlights:

The Red Baron Pizza By the Slice is 2/$5 (even though it wasn’t marked at my store). There is a $2/1 coupon when you “Like” them on Facebook. Be sure to use your back button to print it twice. Use the doubler, and you have FREE pizza! Thanks KCL!

The Oscar Meyer lunch meat is on sale for $2.49 with the in-ad coupon. If you “Like”-ed Kraft on Facebook a couple of days ago and printed the $2/1 coupon, you can double it and get FREE lunch meat!

Tillamook Cheese (be still my heart) is only $3.99!!! These bricks don’t expire until 2011, so I’m going back for more, and I won’t bother freezing them.

Spinach is $1

18 ct. Eggs are $1.88 with the in-ad coupon.

And, I just needed the rest.

Nice Kelleigh! I went this morning as well… I forgot about the cheese so I’ll be going back! I might have to go back to do the Pizza one and the Lunch Meat too…

I did the Capri Sun as well. I figured I paid .45 cents for five boxes total. I’m like you, normally we don’t “do” juice, however it’ll be really nice for camping and park dates this summer!

I also bought 5 cans of Old El Paso refried beans. They were .99 cents. I had two coupons for .60 cents off two. I added in doublers and ended up paying around .65 cents a can. Then I got a $3 off Catalina for meat. I rolled that and got a free Ground Beef for dinner tonight.

Lastly I tried to do the Ziplock bags. With the store coupon they were $1.99 (normally 4 something). I had a 40 cent off coupon I was doubling. It rang up at like $4.39 and it didn’t accept the coupons. The checker tried to fix it, but I can tell that they owe me $2.30. So when I go back for the other stuff, I might have them fix that.

Nice!! I should try the Old El Paso thing! Can you buy other items besides beans? I just made up a HUGE batch the other day.

I just saw I had a typo… It was 6 cans of beans, not FIVE. You can buy other things, but research it carefully. The Enchilada sauce is NOT included. Made that mistake on Monday at Albertson’s. I know that the taco shells are included but I’m not sure what else. I went with the beans because they were the cheapest.

No coupon needed for the cheese. It’s just on sale this week for $3.99! Wahooooo!! I think I’ve bought 5, so far. Hee, hee!
