A Safeway Trip

I just got back from Safeway, and I’m so excited! I’ve been waiting all week for TODAY, when Oroweat Bread and Nabisco Crackers are on sale! This is what I got:

Safeway10_24

Here are some of the highlights:

Oroweat Bread on sale for $1.99
Used .55¢ off 1 coupon (doubled up to .50¢)= .94¢ each (Wahoo!)

Wheat Thins and Triscuits on sale for $1.49
Used (2) $1/2 coupon (doubled) = .74¢ each (nice.)

Knorr Rice Sides on sale for .79¢ each.
Used (2) $1/3 (doubled) = approx .12¢ each (hee, hee!)

Steamfresh meals for 2 (with meat and veggies and everything!)
Grilled Chicken in Roasted Garlic Sauce = 2@$5.99 each = $3.99 total after coupons
Garlic Shrimp = 2@$3.99 each = $1.99 total after coupons
Grilled Chicken Marinara = 2@$4.99 each (on sale) = $2.99 total after coupons
For each set of 2, I used $1.50 off 1 (doubled) + a BOGO coupon.

Trident Layers Gum on sale for $1
Used $1/2 and a BOGO = FREE GUM!

Water was free because I loaded a “thing” on my card, but I did have to pay $1.20 for the deposit.

Last week my husband looked at me like I was crazy as I unloaded my groceries and took a picture. He said, “It’s so weird that you take pictures of your groceries. Of course, I take pictures of dead animals, so I guess it’s not that crazy.” (He’s a hunter, by the way.) I just had to laugh!

It was fun running into you today! We should coordinate Safeway weekend sale shopping. Did you get 10 boxes of Nabisco crackers?

I’m enjoying your photos! I need to keep track of my coupons, too. I’m good at using the coupons for crafting supplies, but not good with the groceries =(
Urmmm… what do you do when you don’t finish all the breads?

Okay…tell me again how long it takes to prep before you head to the stores? Your savings are impressive! And where are you keeping all the extra items? I would think you might be running out of space to store stuff about now or pretty soon.

You made out like a bandit!

No, I did not buy 10, but I’m thinking of going back today because I looked at the expiration date on the boxes I bought, and it is not until March! SO, since we are HUGE fans of Wheat Thins and Triscuits around here, and because I want that rebate, I think I’ll go back!

Sunghee, I froze 2 loaves of bread. We go through about 2 per week around here. Sandwiches almost every day!

This Safeway prep didn’t take me long at all because those blogs that I’ve mentioned previously really helped out. Probably about 10 minutes, tops. And, that includes putting my shoes on.

My freezer (which is a tiny little side-by-side) is cram packed right now. I don’t think we have much more room in there. SO, we are totally just going to eat out of the freezer and pantry this week! I’m looking forward to it. My pantry is nice and big, plus I “found” more storage behind the door, so it looks pretty and organized right now. Filled with cans of veggies and boxes of crackers!
