It is evident that I have issues.
My husband expressly “requested” that I NOT attend any garage sales until I have taken care of my last major haul (which still resides in the garage). In good faith, I purchased some liquid sander. See, I DO plan to do something with that load of furniture. Truly.
It’s a sickness, though.
You can’t just tell a woman to stop going to garage sales, when CLEARLY it is what God has inspired her to do. After all, would He allow all of this to be purchased for only $3.10 if He didn’t want me to buy it? I think not.
Let me break it down for you:
The frames = $1.50. I’m probably going to leave them as-is. So much fun detail! I can totally see them leaned up against a mantle (after all, I have 3 of them, good grief). Maybe they will be hung on the wall for a gallery. Possibly holding pictures without glass. We’ll see!
The vase= 50¢. I just bought a tray for the ottoman in the living room that will go with this vase perfectly! I probably won’t put the vase ON the tray, because that would just be too much pattern. I’ll probably put it somewhere else in the room. Oooh! So exciting!
The silverware holder = 10¢. What can I say. It’s a little caddy for silverware and napkins. Or, maybe to hold scrapbooking supplies? I’ll definitely be painting it black. Definitely.
The basket stand thingy = $1.00. Yep, I spent a whole buck on this thing. So many options. I probably won’t do anything to alter it. I’ll just fill it up with my supplies!
Now, let me ask you. What mother in her right mind would buy THIS instrument of torture?
Um. Apparently this mother. Sheesh. I KNEW it was a bad idea, but I gave the kid (Grant) 25¢. Unfortunately, when he asked the gal how much it was . . . . 25¢. Hmmm. What was I supposed to do? Sure, I could have said no. I could have fought that battle. However, I saw fun times ahead for the boys. Visions of shooting pop cans off of rocks. Playing guns with Daddy. It was definitely a moment of insanity. Not 30 minutes later, he shot Cole in the ear . . . on accident, he tells me. Argh. I KNEW that was going to happen. My poor little guy!
The gun has been confiscated upon further investigation. It may stay in lock-up for the next few years. Or, it may end up in our garage sale next weekend. We’ll see.

Fun Stuff. We are having our annual Sale in Newberg if you want to drive up. =)

Fantastic finds. Man, I might like garage sales if I could find great stuff like this! I’d think I’d died and gone to heaven if I found that basket for a buck!
I have to say I got a good giggle over the rubber band gun. It’s such a boy’s toy, I can see why you didn’t resist. I sure hope though that your little guy’s ear will be okay. Yikes! And how often are they making the whoopie cushion go whoopie, hmmmmmm? That would drive me bananas I think. LOL
Have an awesome weekend! You are off to a super start!
