The Great Cereal Stock Up of 2010: Round Three - I’m done.

14 May 2010 2,500 views 15 Comments

My Quaker Coupons arrived today! Yippee!! About 10 minutes later, I rushed out the door to do the deal. Gotta love living in a small town where everything (including Safeway) is within a 10 mile radius.

This is what I got:

You are looking at 20 boxes of Life Cereal for $3.00. Eeeek!! You see, with my $3/5 coupons (and the Buy 4, Save $4 promo @ Safeway), plus the Safeway doubler (which is available in Oregon and SW Washington), my subtotal came to $6.00. However, I used the Catalina from my big Kellogg’s Cereal score the other night, which brought my total down to just $3.00!! WAHOOO!

The final tally:

On Day 1, I bought 12 boxes of cereal for $2.50. On Day 2, I bought 12 boxes of cereal for $1. On Day 3 (today), I bought 20 boxes of cereal for $3.

Grand total = I bought 44 boxes of cereal for $6.50.

Normal people pay $6.50 for two boxes of cereal. I’m so glad I’m not normal.

Wanna see?

Cereal stacked to the ceiling!!

Cereal stacked behind the door of the pantry:

(Don’t count the boxes, because I’ve already given some away!)

I think it is safe to say that I am done buying cereal for a little while. Please remind me of that this weekend when I am sorely tempted by the FREE Captain Crunch deal.

So, show me your scores!! I gotta see!!

    Oh you LUCKY LUCKY thing!

One thing….can you tell me what “$3/5 coupons” means??? I am trying to understand the lingo so I can fully understand how you are doing this.

Another reason I am so jealous is that we love cereal in this house…..I could eat it for 3 meals straight and be happy!

$3/5 means $3 off of 5 boxes. I’m the same way with my cereal! I ate one bowl for lunch and I still feel full 3 hours later.

Hehe….I have gone totally out of control with this cereal sale too…especially with the Corn Flakes because they are a money maker. I’m going to get my Life tomorrow…and some Cap’n Crunch! :)

I had to laugh at all your Ronzoni….we ended up with 40 boxes, which I’m sure will last us months!

    Great job!

Boo. My Vons (Safeway affiliate) didn’t give me a catalina. They are the WORST about printing catalinas! This time I wasn’t 100% sure if I did the deal right so I didn’t make a huge deal. I bought 2 Life, 2 Apple Jacks, 2 Mini Wheats, Rice Crispies and Crispix. No Catalina. Boo.

Make sure you call the Catalina company!! I bet they will send you your Catalina!

I stumbled across your Cash envelope system on SCS last night, which took me to your blog. OMGosh-I was so in AWE-I was up until 2 am reading and reading about your amazing coupon deals and also about Swag Bucks, went to bed, tossed and turned until 4 am and got up at 9 am. I signed up for Swag Bucks already. As for the coupon savings I don’t know where to start. I live in Minnesota. I want a pantry full of food like you!! We have a Fareway-I hope they are like your Safeway. So tonight I picked up an ad from the grocery store-but now what do I do? Will you help me get started? I ordered your free envelope template-THANKS! Oh, my hubby just started Dave Ramsey-so you may have some tips there for us to. LOL. God Bless, Christine

Christine, that is wonderful!! Good luck with the cash system, and I’m so happy I could inspire you!!

I am trying to find a coupon blog in your area that posts Fareway deals. Hmmm . . . I’m not having much success!

However, I did find a couple of forums that will be able to help you!!
    http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/grocery-stores/ (I see Fareway!)
http://www.afullcup.com/forums/fareway/ (Scroll down. You don’t have to pay for this service.)

Hope that helps! Let me know how it goes!!

Are you trying to find the ads for Fareway? If so here is the website. http://www.fareway.com. They have hot dogs Oscar Meyer $4/4-we eat them when we camp. I found $1/2 (printed two) manufacture coupon-so on Monday my hubby is going to stop to see how it works out with them. I will chk out those links you gave me. Thanks so much! I hope I am not too much of a bother. Fareway has post cereal 3/$5.00 but not finding any manufacture coupons.

Should I sign up for afullcup? It’s free. I found a coupon for raisin bran (which I love)-but I can’t print it without joining. I am so nervous about signing up for some of these coupon sites b/c of spam.

Actually, I was trying to find the blogs that dig deep and figure out the awesome deals for you. The Fareway website isn’t going to do that!! However, I think that some of the ladies on A Full Cup and Hot Coupon World will. They might even have match-up blogs!!

If you are concerned about spam, you could always set up a free gmail account just for your coupons. That’s what I would do!! AND, you should be able to print that Post coupon by going to http://www.postnatural.com/. All those forums do is link you up to the coupon. They don’t host them.

AND, have you looked through the 10 Days to Become a Krazy Coupon Lady series, yet? That’s how I learned everything I know!! http://thekrazycouponlady.com/beginners
