Keeping it Real: I have holes in my house.

Last week I revealed my Sock Monster shame. I’ll admit that I didn’t get around to matching up the socks until yesterday . . . which means that I broke my pinkie promise. So sorry.

Today, I must share another shameful area of my life. I have holes in my house.

This one is in the Master Bathroom. Mitch was doing something with the screwdriver, it slipped and it created a small hole in the wall. Small holes are so temping to little fingers, and pretty soon it became a bigger hole. About a year later, Mitch fixed the hole by stuffing it full of wall putty. We even painted it so that it would blend in, however it’s smoothness against the surrounding orange peel texture was so intriguing that it simply begged little fingers to test its stability. The wall lost the battle to the little fingers once again several months ago.

This photo showcases two different holes in the Boy Bathroom - aka. the “please-never-go-in-there-unless-you-are-a-male-who-is-8-or-younger” bathroom. Because you never know what you’re gonna get.

The smooth, oh-so-tempting hole on the right was the original placement of the towel ring. Did you know that towel rings can double as handles to pull yourself up onto the counter? Yes. It’s true.

The large hold on the left actually happened about a week ago, and probably under the same circumstances.

I might get around to cleaning up the mess today. Shall I pinkie promise? Nah!

I actually have a whole “redecorating” thing in my head for the Boy Bathroom, which includes small towel hooks instead of rings. It just seems wise to go that route. ;)

I’m just Keeping It Real!! Am I the only one with holes in their house? Tell the truth!

Love this post because I have had holes in the wall like this on the same type of textured walls! It drove me nuts to have a smooth patch on a textured wall, but I found they have texture spray at Lowes just in case the smoothness drives you crazy!

You can also buy a “sticker” patch of texture and stick it on over your patch, and then paint it. It worked great on the gigantic hole in the ceiling over the toilet in the boys’ bathroom. (No one is confessing how the hole got there…)

Nope, not the only one. Hole in the entry way, hole in my girls’ bedroom, hole in my bedroom, hole in the boy’s bedroom…all where the door knob has slammed into the wall (my kids have broken every single door stopper we have installed…drives me insane). I even have to replace 2 doors for people and their complete inability to not throw doors open as hard as they possibly can…yeah, holes in two interior doors, too.
