Coupon Connections!

1 April 2011 1,618 views 6 Comments

I’ve been featured!!

I was totally flattered when Amber from Coupon Connections (one of my favorite coupon blogs, and probably the best @ Safeway match-ups for the Pacific NW) wrote to me to ask if she could feature me on her blog! I whipped up some answers to her questions, and she posted them today!! Go check it out on her Couponing: My Story feature.

I’ve been enjoying reading about other strategic couponers. I love hearing their stories, and the funny thing is that we have a lot in common in the way that we coupon! It’s always nice to “meet” another couponer!

Enjoy learning a bit about me and the way that I coupon!

It says you get newspapers in recycling bins? Right off the streets where people live? when do you usually do that? What day? Do you ask people to dig through their trash? haha..
I like the idea of having more coupons on my hands, maybe I’ll try it sometime…

That’s true, except not PERSONAL recycling bins. I get them out of newspaper recycling bins, so they are all newspapers that are dumped there by businesses who have extra. I grab them on Monday morning!

Yeah, not personal, I thought that was probably not the case. Where would I find such a recyling bin? Hmmm.

By the way, LOVE your blog, your posts, everything. I find that we are similar in many ways other than the hobby of couponing, almost like a kindred spirit. You even talk the way I do, meaning express yourself the way I do. And I have a lot to learn from you!

We are switching to the envelope system! I finally convinced my husband after a few months of begging him. He likes using the debit card for everything. For me: I need to SEE how much money we have, and how much we save.

    Thanks Lily!

My husband took a while to come around to the cash system, too, but once I got him on board, he totally cooperated and now LOVES it. For us, the key was to allow fun money. We never had designated money just for ourselves before this, so it was awesome!! We budget $50 for each of us, which may seem like a lot, but we save a lot more than that because we no longer use credit cards. We can finally breathe at the end of the month! I can’t tell you how amazing that feeling is! Congrats on moving to cash, and good luck!!

As for the papers, keep an eye out around town for recycling centers, or ask restaurants if you can have their leftovers! :)
