My sweet friend Mari Koegelenberg has branched out into the digital cutting files field!! She has created cutting files for digital cutting machines (Cricut, Silhouette, Wishblade and more) AND has created many tutorials on her new blog to show you how to do it.

WHY am I so excited about this? Because I’m gonna do it, too!! I’ve hinted a bit on Facebook and Twitter (okay, so I’ve been totally obvious) and now I’m letting the whole world know that I am doing my best to create cutting files, just like Mari. Because, as you know, I have this thing about announcing my intentions to the world. If I tell you, it WILL happen. {Oh, the pressure!!} Thankfully, Mari started it first, so she is helping me out. YAY!

I bought a Cricut last month. I bought the Sure Cuts A Lot software. I bought CS5 (Lord, help me!). I’ve been playing with my Cricut (wow, this thing is SO STINKIN’ COOL!) and I’ve been importing images and SVG files into my SCAL software. Seriously, people. I don’t know why anyone would ever buy another Cricut cartridge if they have the SCAL software. Perhaps that is why the people of Cricut ignored my requests to send me a cutting machine for free. Hmmm . . . they must have known . . .

Anywho!! Back to Mari.

She created a TOTALLY COOL Favor Bag Template that you can download for free (includes cutting files and all the stuff I usually give you), plus she now has a Cake Box Template (different than mine - cute little scalloped top!) and she just released a Doilie Set! Eeek! The doilies are adorable!!

Look what I made:

I cut the doilie with Mari’s new set (plus I cut a bunch more of the different styles so I could rock a bunch of them), AND, I cut the R, too! I just gotta say that I love the SCAL software! (I know that Mari uses Make-the-Cut, so there are options out there for you, if you should chose to purchase the software.)

I made the paper flower myself. Isn’t it awesome?! I followed a paper flower tutorial that I found via the hybrid forum at the Digichick. I love it! Perhaps I’ll stop buying Prima . . . who knows . . .

Anyway, I wanted to show off a little and let you know what Mari is up to, plus announce my intentions!! Are you as excited as me?
