Lovin’ Safeway again. I think.

10 January 2010 2,056 views 7 Comments

I went back today.  I was shaking like you wouldn’t believe!  It was so weird.  Kinda like the first time I ever “did a deal”.  Can anyone relate?  And yet, I’ve crazy couponned MANY times before.  I should have been so confident and relaxed, but after my horrible Safeway experience the other day, my stomach was in major knots and I was on the verge of puking.

But still . . . look!

I’m pretty sure I have become an “Eat From Your Pantry Month” drop-out.  {sigh}

Anyone know how to break this viscous cycle of needing to shop the sales?  I’m down to $1 and change in my final envelope of the month, and payday is Friday (which means I won’t get more cash until Monday).  I suppose that’s the way to break the cycle, huh.  Because, as we all know, when the money is gone, it is gone!

(Oh, and I don’t have any money left to buy the paper, so . . . anyone have any inserts to give me?  Feed my addiction.)

Cereal Box Count:
32 unopened
7 opened

Good grief. Time to donate!

    Sooo funny. :) No $ = No shopping. Interesting realization… You know what stopped me couponing? Hubby stopped my newspaper subscription! Oh I was so mad! But it made me use what I had on stock, see what we actually use, etc. I still have Colgate up the wazoo and sure deoderant. I’ll be donating those! You can always crush up cereal to make muffin mix…

    Good luck getting thru the next sales cycle. ;)

    I brought three grocery bags full of food to church today for the Food Bank…gave away several boxes of cereal and crackers with a few other things. We have *more* then enough to share!

    No no no no Kelleigh!!! I was actually eating off of Pantry this past week AND spent only 25% of my normal spending to be more like YOU!
    Okie, now I’m going back to my normal spending mode. Heehee.

    I can’t say anything…we have 37 unopened boxes of cereal…but it was so cheap and I got some free. I’m okay with it. I think :)

    We have way too much cereal too. Reading your posts really makes me wish for a Safeway nearby. I do my shopping at Kroger and Walmart (the two best choices in my small town), and thankfully I can still get some pretty great deals.
