My friend Sharon sent me this poem.  SO appropriate!
Twas the night before Christmas, I’m glued to the tree.
I’m wondering what Santa brought just for me.
Could it be cardstock or inkpads or lace?
Or some stamps, I said, with a smile on my face.
And that’s when I heard him……
“Hi Santa, ” I said
He replied, “You know….good girls should be in their beds”.
“I know I should Santa,and now I’ve been caught.
But I was just so excited to see what you brought.”
“Well, let’s take a …

Super Yummy Meatloaf

This is what I made with my clearanced ground beef tonight. I found the recipe in an issue of Kraft Foods magazine (which I used to get for free, but I haven’t received a copy in a LONG time, so I dunno what happened).  I stock up on Stove Top when it goes 79¢ and below JUST for this recipe.
Kraft calls it:
Easy Pleasing Meatloaf

2 lb. lean ground beef

1 pkg.  (6 oz.) STOVE TOP Stuffing Mix for Chicken

1 cup water

2   eggs, beaten

1/2 cup KRAFT Original Barbecue Sauce, divided

A Grocery Budget Update and Shoppin’ Safeway Again!

Well, it has officially been one month since I decided to cut our grocery budget in half.  Just FYI, the “grocery” category consists of food and personal care, eating out, Dutch Bros. coffee runs, grocery papers, whims, etc.
Here is a little bit of history:  Our whole married lives (12 years) we hadn’t really had a solid grocery budget (or any budget).  We just bought whatever we wanted (within reason), which probably amounted to about $600 a month for the “grocery” category for our family of 4 (boys ages 3 and …

A Charming Gifts Giveaway!

You know how I mentioned that I became a member of Barter Boutique a while back?  The idea was that I would trade advertising on my site or the items that I sell (my templates) for items that other members of Barter Boutique sell: jewelry, handmade goods, digital goods, vinyl and home decor, etc.  It’s a fun and unique way to save a little money on gifts, or “get stuff” for yourself.  I had originally thought that I would be bartering for Christmas presents for others, but then I saw …

We’ve decked the halls!

One of the things I love about December is pulling out my Christmas decorations and creating a fun, festive, elegant atmosphere that just begs you to sit down, curl up and have a cup of cocoa.  I love sitting in the quiet, listening to Christmas music celebrating the birth of my Savior and becoming mesmerized by the Christmas lights.  The glow of candles, the smell of chocolate, and the whispers of little boys who “get it”.  They feel the peace, too.  I just love that!
We usually get our tree the …

Tree Traditions (a new digi layout!)

Just finished this one up today!  I used Snow Friends by Danielle Engebretson, The Whites paper pack and Joyful Alphabet by Roben-Marie Smith and a paper fold by Karah Fredricks.
We had such a great time picking out our tree this year.  We usually go tree hunting with Mitch’s parents, but they were out of town, so we went by ourselves.  We had heard about a tree farm that is real close to our house that had trees for only $12, so we were determined to find it.  Sure enough!  All …
